I am a wrestler myself. Actually, I'm from a family with a wrestling heritage. My Father is a very accomplished wrestler. He is a several time champion of Europe and the USSR.

My love for the sport began at an early age. But, as a child, I was overweight. It was a big obstacle in becoming a great wrestler. One day my Father told me, "The only way for you to become a real man, is to loose weight, eat healthy, don’t use drugs, and learn discipline, respect, and chivalry through wrestling." This was my wakeup call.

From this point on, a light turned on inside of me. I dedicated myself to following his advice and I am trying to live up to the wisdom of my Father. Today, I am an excellent wrestler, college student and a wrestling coach.

I highly recommend that all parents have their children involved in sports at an early age. Those actively participating in sport training are in better physical shape, have lower body weight, healthier self-esteem and stay away from drugs.

As the saying has it: by tradition, every American family needs at least one wrestler. It is interwoven into the very fabric of the American culture. 13 of our presidents were wrestlers. Many eminent high achievers in other industries were wrestlers. What does it mean? I will tell you. This means that wrestling training teaches valuable lessons that come handy life.

Even though wrestling is no longer my top priority, I am still inspired by the great qualities wrestling taught me. Wrestling saved me from remaining obese and inspired me to better myself. I am proud to know that I am a part of the wrestling culture, history, and tradition in my own family and in America. Take my word for it: wrestling is more than just a sport; it’s a way of life.
